It most certainly was the most contagious. The virus lingered on bedding and had to be burned. Sometimes whole 'shacks'. Those contaminated blankets were used to kill off our Indian population, who had no immunity to European diseases. More so than Thyphoid or Thyphus which was more localized. The Story of Typhoid Mary was well known, at least her being a carrier. The full story is worse. The government incarcerated her in horrible conditions for the rest of her life. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pastmedicalhistory.co.uk%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F05%2FScreen-Shot-2018-05-31-at-09.38.48.png&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=ab5d8a3735fdbb6fdd6aa64566d1d34281b22eff68e5c41597f3a9055302da33&ipo=images
