Wow. I did not know about Bleeding Kansas. I hope that history is taught in Kansas schools. It needs to be known. Those who know their history can see more clearly what it means for today. All the J6ers who were arrested for their dissent, just like those in Kansas. Are we going to end up with bloodshed? We may see soon enough.

I always figured the primary reason we had the Civil War was to keep the country together, and the secondary reason was to end slavery. I've often wondered what this land would be like if Lincoln had allowed the southern states to secede. I know they'd eventually have freed the slaves, like the rest of the world did (mostly). I wonder if there's an alt-history book with that premise.
