Many NASA personnel in various interviews over the years have stated that we have never passed the Van Allen radiation belt. So..... there's that problem. Looking into all the arguments and counter arguments, I feel this was yet another lie- that we landed via a garbage can with technology that can fit on an old floppy disk. And today, countries still struggle in getting rovers landed there.
I will add that, from a purely OpSec point of view, there's no reason to give away military secrets for a photo op. If the government truly did accomplish moon travel then giving a true photo of the event is begging your enemies and rivals to copy you, even improve on it, and btfo any advantage you had.
You can see this today in the Ukraine war where they try to scrub or blur out details from images of missiles that would give away what specific model or technology they use. They don't alway do a good job at that but it's a constant consideration.
Getting to the moon or another planet is about as impossible as leaping successfully the Grand Canyon with a motor scooter. Check out what a rocket needs to propel it into space. The most powerful rocket fuel known to man is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. I repeat: there is no fuel, or any other means of propulsion, more powerful than hydrogen oxygen This mixture enables a rocket to accelerate to a maximum speed of 2 miles per second. Escape velocity from the gravity of the earth is 7 miles per second. Space vehicles can only reach orbital altitudes, but they cannot escape the gravity of the earth. This is an argument that no one has been able to refute!
The most compelling explanation I ever heard was that some of the footage had to get faked because the film got overexposed in Space.
