I stopped in one month after developing bruising and cramping. I could immediately no longer hike due to calve cramps. When I investigated this and discovered the side effect profile, plus absurd NNT (100), I confronted my doctor who denied knowledge of side effects and offered to put me on a different statin. It was a precursor to the Covid nonsense for me certainly, where for the first time I can remember, I perceived that doctors did not in fact act exclusively in a patient’s best interest.

No knowledge of side effects!! Right! They don't read or research. They just prescribe the latest fad that the pharmaceutical sales people bring around. I read about these side effects 15 years ago when my mother's best friend began falling and having great difficult getting up! She was afraid of having a heart attack, so in spite of my mother and I trying to persuade her to get off this dangerous drug, she ended up rotting away for five years in a nursing home! Her heart finally did stop and she was relieved of this terrible life caused by a statin drug!

I had several male business associates who were on this stuff and having trouble with strength in their arms. I asked them if they were taking a statin and they were! I told them to get off this junk immediately before they ended up in a nursing home! They did, thankfully and their arm muscles returned to normal. This has been going on for two decades or more. Hasn't anyone learned yet???

I have the proof myself, doctors don’t read inserts. My wife was put successively on 12 different psychiatric med’s. I read them all and confronted them with the sequels, too many to go in detail but one thing I can say, all horrifying even In one it mentions death!

Many of these drug advertisements mention "death" -- out loud! Noted in the fine print at the bottom of the ad! Does anyone hear this word?? Terrible!

Expand full comment

OK…..but death is death, the mourning and after giving it it’s time…but the horror is they don’t kill you on the spot but you’re as good as death hardly aware that you’re still alive. No one notices that you’re no longer “present” and that you’re brain is erased or chemically lobotomised.

Kendrick (in The Clot Thickens) discusses factors that reduce life expectancy. Unfortunately one of the worst are several types of chronic mental illness. He estimates a 10-20 year reduction in some cases, alas. He doesn’t go into specifics, but of course there are many confounders, e.g. poor lifestyle choices, dangerous behaviors, drug or alcohol abuse etc. But your post makes me wonder about the psych drugs, too.

Kathleen, you soooooo remind me of my best friend!!! Long hair, big brown eyes and a noted appearance that is an indicator of intelligence. Your eye space shouts out intelligence and your overall appearance suggests a balanced and ordered character. Yes appearance can tell me such things. I have dealt with at least 500 to 600 women a year over 30 decades and one could say that over 33 decades equates to around close to 20,000 gals of all ages, ethnicity, race, age and sizes. Do not miss this next point. The softest gentlest and most amenable one was so obese she had to use an access scooter to get around. She came out to the road to talk to me and ask questions as I worked.

You are ALL DIFFERENT BUT ALL THE SAME. I have been kissed, hugged and touched but not indecently and recently by that category of woman who is sensory and do so to silently command my attention.

My Dr put me on a statin. Apx 3 years later, he put me on a different one. A few months went by before I asked my pharmacist if it was normal or OK being on 2 statins, & he sternly said, "NO!" Why he didn't notice both prescriptions in the computer, IDK - but I immediately stopped taking either of them.

I refused. I had too many side effects. My numbers were high and have serious genetic predisposition as well. AMD, I am SO glad you have quoted from books written by my good friend, Dr. Malcolm Kendrick--not because I know him personally-- but because he took ON the entire Statin Pharma Complex [SPC], and in my view, WON!

How? Because once you let the Truth Genie OUT of the bottle, it spreads like wildfire, just as you, AMD, are doing here.

Is there really any other way to live than by radical commitment to truth coupled with communication that is kind, respects others, and asserts truth? So keep on keeping on, AMD!

I heartily recommend to readers Dr. Kendrick's, "The Great Cholesterol Con". When I read his description of a people (I forget the country) who had the absolute worst diet that Americans especially are told would lead to a heart attack, yet had the LOWEST Cholesterol of any nation in the world, I was ASTOUNDED! In unending professional yet humorous ways, Dr. Kendrick shows the reader that pushers of statins and their makers are full of horse manure.

I hope to get around soon to his book, "Doctoring Data: How to Sort Out Medical Advice From Medical Nonsense", but I'm still reading his "The Clot Thickens", another good one. As mentioned, Dr. Kendrick writes very engagingly and with lots of humor. Knowing the tactics of the enemy, as inferred from AMD's gutsy writing (and also borne out in Kendrick's work) helps you defeat him/them.

So in September, I brought in the "Con" book to show to my Cardiologist (whom I do respect greatly).

I told him I was done with statins, that I had taken my last one the week prior, and that he was welcome to borrow this Scottish Cardiologist's book. Well, after perusing the book for 50-90 seconds, he said it approximated "junk science". I all but stopped short of asking if he got money from the PIC for writing statin prescriptions. He pushed the Con book he had placed on his desk back towards me. (Well, you can't win them all, but you can at least put well-intentioned professionals on notice that maybe, just maybe THEY ,TOO, have been conned!)

My conclusion?

One, the Pharma Industrial Complex [PIC] unquestionably, as cited in AMD's article, manipulates data.

Two, in using data like a magician weaves magic, PIC weaponizes fear to sell their products and we have seen this time and time again (the latest being when they Endlessly & Fearfully Pushed the Snake Venom-filled COVID-19 Jabs-- fueled by lies that terrified the masses so "they" could get their way*) AND they keep MOVING the "bar" of what "amount" of Cholesterol is preferable, that is, "acceptable". And many Doctors (except, happily, AMD! and perhaps a few others) buy into this nonsense.

This is a form of Control, and Control is evil when lying liars (Fauci, PIC, etc.) LIE to get their way because MEGA BILLIONS of dollars are the reward for doing the devil's bidding. Shakespeare's character perhaps said it best, "The devil can cite Scripture to prove HIS point!")

So, Mr. Fauci, (you lost the "Dr." title when YOU long ago became "unsafe" and "ineffective"), it's time to face the RFK, Jr. music, the same music you hear from AMD and company. (RFK, Jr. wrote the book "The REAL Dr. Fauci". Bravo, Mr. Kennedy.)

*Three, WHY do they lie? Yes, to make MONEY but there is a more DEVIOUS reason: to lead the masses (like a Pied Piper) to a DETERIORATION of their health AND to keep them DEPENDENT on the PIC as well as dependent on the "almighty" AMA who lie for them.

Think about that. When you read the truth espoused by AMD, how CAN you conclude they actually want to BUILD UP your health? Yes, I DO respect Doctors who studied for YEARS to BECOME a Doctor and I do not dismiss them outright as a class of people. But when some fall in line with Pharma with stuff that is questionable, I seek truth elsewhere. And when some, such as AMD, expose the lies, I cheer them on.

It was Pharma, who with the AMA and the FDA and the NCI (National Cancer Institute), conspired (and unfortunately succeeded) to keep FROM the world, Dr. Raymond Royal Rife's Cancer Cure. [See "The Cancer Cure That Worked" by Barry Lynes.] Well, not anymore. THAT genie is out of ITS bottle as well. Some around the world (but forbidden in the U.S. because of the aforementioned "Control") are using Dr. Rife's brilliant findings to cure cancer and assist patients with other diseases.

In conclusion, the Statin horse manure and the suppression of Dr. Rife's cancer cure were and are designed to Depopulate the planet (yes, that means they want me AND YOU dead, IF they can make THAT happen) because of that small segment of the elite who believe Satan's lie that there are too many people on planet Earth. Because of the greed of a few, this lie gets propagated every day. An examination of anything! that AMD courageously writes, coupled with the lies about statins and the suppression of Dr. Rife and his discoveries (& those of many others who also cured cancer and those who invented free energy machines), will bear out that truth.

AMD, is it true you are writing a book? If so, I want to buy it. When I read your wonderful work, I keep getting reminded of what President Harry Truman said, "Always tell the truth-- that will astonish some, and gratify the rest."

AMD, I do Not know him personally, just through his work, BUT YOU can send him a message on his website: www.drmalcolmkendrick.org and click on the "Contact" button.

Perhaps you can send him a copy of your article above (or a link)! He'd probably be tickled pink to know that a Doctor in America is promulgating his work/truth!

On another note, may I humbly suggest you publish a book of all your past columns/writings ("Volume 1", "Volume 2", etc. if it's feasible or organize it by Topic) although you'd have to painstakingly type in the links, or hire someone to do so and then move your articles to a platform from which you could perhaps interest a publisher through a trusted intermediary in order to keep your anonymity several persons removed.

If it were myself, I'd have someone I trust approach such an agent to present my (anonymous) work.

Most definitely, I would consult an attorney to see if you can protect yourself 100% JUST in case for some stupid or unjust reason here is a subpoena issued to learn your private identity. Ask him if there is an insurance policy that would guarantee you a big payout if someone did misuse the legal system to compel finding out where you practice, etc.

If an intellectual law attorney says you cannot be assured 100% anonymity against a subpoena, then ask that attorney if you could sell an e-book on a site that's several people removed from you OR if if you could do so on a platform like Amazon and if such a work would 100% protect your anonymity. I say this even though we all here clearly know you do not ever disparage or defame any professional or non-professional nor impugn their professional and/or personal reputation. (I am Not an attorney but I understand that Truth is a defense to libel.) Sigh, I guess the only 2 certain things in life ARE death and taxes!

Lastly, on Dr. Kendick's site, I just read his post where two people (1 quite young and the other much older) who had been taking statins and stopped them DIED AFTER stopping them! I think there is a post here similar to those if I glanced correctly. In my view, Pharma needs an anonymous Citizen Oversight Committee to resist the temptations of being bought or "persuaded monetarily".

Thank you, AMD, for reading this and for your consideration.

I just want to put in another good word for Dr. Malcolm Kendrick's "The Clot Thickens," which I read cover to cover with great pleasure. Spoiler: the book talks a lot about the physiology of epithelial damage in the circulatory system, and much less about cholesterol (though cholesterol does play a role in healing that damage). Besides the good science, Dr. Kendrick has a great sense of humor and writes really compellingly.

But maybe the best part of the book is near the end, when he changes the topic to the question more people ought to be asking: which interventions will add the most years to your life? For some reason, medicine and medical studies rarely ask that question.

Had two close people in my life develop heart failure (EF 25%) from statins without Coenzyme Q10 supplementation. Once the statin was discontinued and Co Q10 was given with Taurine , their EFs went back to 50%. One was a 92 year old man, my father who is now 96. If you are worried about regulating cholesterol metabolism, look into berberine and bergamot. Berberine is an amazing plant alkaloid that has GLP-1 transport- like properties. "Ejection Fraction: What Do the Numbers Mean?

Apr 13, 2022 — A normal ejection fraction is 50 percent or higher. An ejection fraction below 40 percent means your heart isn't pumping enough blood and may be failing."

***

"Can you live with 25 percent heart function?

When heart function is less than 50% it can lead to cardiac arrest of an organism. Now if the heart function is less than 20%, it will lead to cardiac arrest. It won't be able to supply blood to the brain and other parts of the body which will eventually lead to the death of the person."

Five years ago I was diagnosed with an EF of 15%. They made me wear a shock vest 24/7 until I could have a pacemaker/defibulator implanted. I've had echocardiograms ever year since. Highest reading was 40%, current reading is 30%. I live an active, normal life. Probably more active than most 63 year old's. The reason I'm telling my story is I've discovered echos are a guesstimate. The technician outlines the heart (with their mouse) in a couple different positions during the heartbeat. Then they (try to) calculate the ejection fraction.

Ejection fraction is at most an educated guess.

I pick it up at the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist the same question. I get the cow eyes and the same answer. How do they not know what I knew 12 years ago? About the same time I got Lipitor, I started a low-carb diet and began walking. At next checkup, my cholesterol had dropped from 230-ish to 130-ish. My doctor was so happy, never asked about side effects, never considered that diet and exercise had any effect. Have since quit Lipitor. My short-term memory had become worthless, but now is back. Nattokinase:

Effective management of atherosclerosis progress and hyperlipidemia with nattokinase: A clinical study with 1,062 participants

Nattokinase (NK), known as a potent fibrinolytic and antithrombotic agent, has been shown to have antiatherosclerotic and lipid-lowering effects. However, data on human clinical studies are limited. In this clinical study involving 1,062 participants, our objective was to examine the efficacy of NK in atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia and safety at the dose of 10,800 FU/day after 12 months of oral administration. Various factors, including lower doses that influence NK pharmacological actions, were also investigated.

We found that NK at a dose of 10,800 FU/day effectively managed the progression of atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia with a significant improvement in the lipid profile. A significant reduction in the thickness of the carotid artery intima-media and the size of the carotid plaque was observed. The improvement rates ranged from 66.5 to 95.4%. NK was found to be ineffective in lowering lipids and suppressing atherosclerosis progression at a dose of 3,600 FU/day. The lipid-lowering effect of NK was more prominent in subjects who smoked, drank alcohol, and subjects with higher BMI. Regular exercise further improved the effects of NK. Co-administration of vitamin K2 and aspirin with NK produced a synergetic effect. No noticeable adverse effects associated with the use of NK were recorded.

In conclusion, our data demonstrate that atherosclerosis progression and hyperlipidemia can be effectively managed with NK at a dose of 10,800 FU/day. The lower dose of 3,600 FU per day is ineffective. The dose of 10,800 FU/day is safe and well tolerated. Some lifestyle factors and the coadministration of vitamin K2 and aspirin lead to improved outcomes in the use of NK.

Another excellent review! I make all the same points when I lecture on this topic. Here are a few more:

A scientific hypothesis can't be proven, but a single observation can disprove one. A single "black swan" disproves the hypothesis that "all swans are white." Thus, the so-called "French Paradox" disproves definitively the "diet-heart hypothesis." Likewise, the cholesterol theory of coronary disease is completely disproven by the millions with high cholesterol and normal coronaries, and the millions with low cholesterol who get myocardial infarctions.

Statins are sold using a mathematical manipulation that converts a 1% absolute risk reduction to a 33% (or more) relative risk reduction. It's amazing how few doctors even know about this. My friend David Diamond has some great lectures on YouTube explaining how it works. Obviously, this is the same MO Pharma used to sell the jabs, and many of their bogus products.

Rather than debunk every industry-funded study, I argue from First Principles. Cholesterol is so vital to life that almost all cells have the enzymatic machinery to synthesize it. The brain has the ability to produce this miraculous substance, without which dementia occurs. Cholesterol is the precursor of vitamin D, cortisol, aldosterone, and the sex hormones. It is absolutely inconceivable that interfering with the biosynthesis of cholesterol could be anything but harmful.

Clinically, statins fail elementary risk vs. benefit analysis, meaning they should never be prescribed. They can be safely stopped in anyone., and I have no problem making this recommendation.

Cheers!

It seems to me reading comments and what Drs have put me through over the years that the idea/plan is to have everyone worrying about numbers. Blood pressure. Cholesterol. The key is to get the nutrients one needs and exercise. Do everything in moderation. Wearing a watch that shows numbers will only stress you out and raise said numbers. You are correct that we need cholesterol. I wonder how many have gone blind with Statins?

I don’t know too many in my circle who know and believe what I know. All worried about cholesterol. I just tell them my numbers are good. I honestly don’t even worry about it. That and BP.

This was mentioned in this report. but is way more frequent and serious than is alluded to here. In the 1980's an astronaut started having statins prescribed. His cholesterol wasn't high but slightly elevated. 6 weeks later he is walking along and suddenly had no idea who he was, where he was, global amnesia. He decided to discontinue statins and gradually his memory returned. A year later he was convinced to take statins again resulting in another bout of global amnesia. This time he put up a website asking if anyone else had experienced this. In 2 months he had 70,000 responses for people. who had experienced it. I was a clinical counsellor in a small coastal community in Canada. I a town of 6,000 people I asked all my clients a) if they were taking statins and b) had they ever completely lost their memory. 6 said yes to both, no global amnesia in people not taking statins.

This is serious and many people on statins are having general memory loss. DO NOT TAKE STATINS.

I drank the kool aid too! Thanks to my lineage, my body has homozygous familial hyperlipidemia. Onre day at work, during an interaction with a difficult patient, my left arm went numb. Naturally I was concerned and went to see a cardiologist and since my numbers live around 400, he prescribed statins and Omega 3's. Within a year, I had all but lost my short term memory (which was amazing) and I began awaking in the middle of the night with calf cramps that were SOOO painful I would have to jump out of bed and walk/stretch. Naturally this affected my sleep cycles. Luckily I came across some good books on the evils of statins and stopped the drug cold. Within a few years, my memory returned (yes it took that long) and thankfully no brain damage (depends on who you talk to). Now with external and internal DMSO and Methylene blue, I can say my memory and health is better than it was 30 years ago (I am 73). Ya'know, I always wondered how I could take more healing to more people...I never figured it out BUT I am very pleased you did...VERY WELL DONE!
