Statins have some serious known (well not promoted to be known) side effects on women. Here's an article in 2017 from Holistic perspective of why we ought not to simply hand it out like candy if you have LDL of a certain level... https://www.huffpost.com/entry/women-statins_b_4283650 As for myself, I do believe that the end result is not any better at 'extending' life or 'preventing strokes'... until I can see large differences, I'll go with exercise daily, healthy eating, and maybe a couple of supplements like fish oil or flaxseed ...

My husband had horrible adverse reactions to statins. From nightly leg cramps, brain fog, erectile dysfunction, irratibiliy, fatigue, etc. Once he stopped taking the statins, all those conditions ceased. It was SO obvious there was a cause/effect. Like blood pressure, they lower the "acceptable" numbers to rein in more customers by convincing people that a "silent killer" lurks within their body. Sounds familiar to the "asymptomatic carriers" of cv.
