If I may comment: "Saving this magnificent planet" surely COULD occur, since He has created it in its fullness in just a few days. However, the scriptures make it clear that the planet will "wax old, like a garment" and then finally be made NEW upon the third Advent of Christ, after the 1000 years in heaven are finished. But that does not negate the efficacy of prayer for help during this time we occupy now. Prayer is always a good thing, and is the substance which flows like life-blood within our relationship with Him.
The "Rich men, and merchants of the earth" surely, like you write of them, are destroying the earth for money. This has not gone unnoticed by the recording angels, and will condemn them in the Judgement, disallowing them, by their idolatrous, remorseless ways, from the promises of eternal life. They have enjoyed the "fruits" of their labors in luxury, while their brothers and sisters have been suffering for want. This too is faithfully recorded against them. They will not live eternally. Instead, the faithful "poor" will watch as the wicked are consumed and never again surface to cause such mayhem and chaos. It is a "just" and righteous conclusion to a very long ordeal.
