Local government is at the top of the hierarchy. All decisions made by local governments (e.g. city, county) canNOT be overruled by State governments. Decisions made at the State level canNOT be overruled by the Federal government.
That's the way it should be because who better to decide what should happen at the local level than the people who live there?
But instead, we have it backwards. We let the Feds tell the State and Locals what to do, and we let the States tell the locals what to do.
How many times do we have to repeat the disaster of empire before we realize this? How can a bureaucrat sitting 2500 miles distant make a better decision about what happens here in my city than the people who live in this city?
