Interesting co-incidence; as I was still waking up this morning I just remembered an old article (out of the blue) I read years ago while I was still studying. It was written by retired professor. The article was about how many of the academics, who go via the doctoral thesis way, start deteriorate with respect of their general knowledge and understanding of the world simultaneously as they start accumulate the special detailed knowledge on their specialization..
I 100% agree with that and also believe it applies to medicine and medical specialization. The best doctors I know are all generalists not specialists.
Wonderful article, as usual. I come from a family of highly educated people (I am the least educated of the lot). I am the only one who refused the vaccine, masks (when possible), and more. I was scolded and told: "You must agree with RFK, Jr", which is true. I did not know it at the time; subsequently, I read some of his books as well as CHD information. You and many others on substack have helped so many of us who have chosen to remain individuals rather than pack animals.

In the case of my 5 sisters, I attribute it to pure, genetic, orneriness! Just kidding. I think they were much too smart to waste their time in skool. Every one of them is amazingly creative and hard working.
I am the middle brat of 7, the only one never to go to college. Also the only one to refuse the shots (although some of my siblings only took it to keep their jobs). Despite my lack of 'education' I homeschooled my own two. I received quite the education!
Ha! Not necessarily! I’m oldest of 7, highest educated in health (post masters). I went back to school in my 50s. Used to sit in class, thinking “what? why?”. Learned early on “left thinking” is celebrated, right thinking is frowned upon! Tried to school my lesser educated sibs on not taking the vax, half listened, half did not! And like school, we have a fracture line in our family since the pandemic! Greatly saddened! Lots of illnesses too lately!
About 30 years ago, after two decades of both formal and informal acquisition of knowledge on health and nutrition, it frequently confounded me that people who had acquired much more in the way of credentials would say things publicly that I knew to be false. At first, I incorrectly assumed that they "must know" something that I had missed. It took a while to recognize that people with lots of credentials would actually be for sale to Big pHarma, Big Food and other corporate interest for a quick buck. And some "true believers" would just never question what they were conditioned to memorize in medical school.
The late Dr. Rashid Butar explained it as the difference between stupid and ignorant. Stupid people cannot ever see the picture beyond their own reality no matter what proof or facts you give them. Once you realize you are dealing with a stupid person walk away because you are wasting your time. An ignorant person is one that just has never been told or shown the facts/truth but when educated has the ability to see the truth and be enlightened. They are open to ideas and can be helped to see the truth in any issue. These are the people we need to spend our time to help them see what is going on around them and the world. RIP Dr. Butar

Your comment could be in the style of smart vs dumb. We have seen many "smart" people, for example MD, scientist, air line pilot, politician, etc., rejecting facts and arguments on, say, dangers of mRNA, during the "pandemic." They are not dumb. Something else going on.
One way to characterize this is fundamentalism. The closing off of consideration of challenges to ones' position. Protecting and managing boundaries of the self or the group. Strong but flexible boundaries.
Fundamentalism can often be seen in religious adherence but it is also seen in ideological positions that are strongly held as a persons or a group's identity. This is not an attack on religion which is a essential mode of existence to forming collectives, but making the point that Balance is essential.

Let’s say 30% of the population of a country lived beyond 90 years. Pension plans would implode as there would not be enough money to cover redemptions. For those on public pensions, we could raise taxes to ensure pensioners get paid, but that would mean less money for schools, roads and other infrastructure. Government services would need to be dramatically scaled back resulting in huge job losses.
All of these elderly people would essentially be ‘useless eaters’ sapping the economic strength of the country to provide them with medical care and free bus passes, while they produce and contribute nothing.
Why did they ramp up the vaccine schedule in the 80’s? I would suggest that they did this because population (which grows exponentially) was about to get out of control so they needed to take action. What would our overall population be if not for the vaccine push and the dramatic increase in the availability of processed foods in recent decades?

At the end of the day all they care about is having enough circus and barnyard animals to operate the farm. They could care less about you or your health - you are EXPENDABLE.

I noticed when I began teaching in 1988 that creativity and thinking differently was not welcome in the classrooms and certainly not in the schools I worked in. I did what I could to encourage the students to think "outside the box" and was chastised many times over the years. It is what has kept me from full time employment. I was often told "you do not fit" and they were correct. I did not subscribe to their indoctrination and that was a big problem. However, many of the classroom teachers appreciated my efforts, so I was always busy while working as a substitute teacher. I love helping students learn, but detest being in most classrooms.
.......and in the workshops for young naive teachers during the seventies and early eighties , they were taught to be pseudo psychologists assessing abuse and the worries parents caused their children.
I recall one poster in a fifth grade class that read," YOU CANNOT TALK TO YOUR PARENTS . TALK TO YOUR TEACHER !"
I was sure the first word in the sentence had fallen off the big bulletin board and I looked all over the floor but the word "IF" was not there.
Now the teachers are work shopped on Teacher Inservice days to facilitate gender concerns and change for each child that they must not reveal to the parents Lupron being the one dangerous drug being doled out by PP Clinics during school hours ,when children are brought to them by some school employees..

As a retired nurse who started the first homeschooling support group with two others in NJ after taking my youngest out of school, i can look back and honestly admit she grew up with the better thinking brain.
Despite being selected to tutor in Chemistry in college ( an actual Pharma saleswomen who just did not get it ) and being accepted into a MS Occ Therapy program, she decided to opt for managing jewelry stores and currently is an Operations Manager for a boutique on Palm Beach.
I see some others who followed the money as far as what the colleges recommended they pursue and honestly few are happy, or for that matter ,are making decent money.
My husband was an electronic hardware engineer and about fifteen years before retirement he saw his career choice outsourced to China.
I watched Healthcare change in the hospitals when finance experts were hired and nurses were surveyed
to learn how many minutes or hours they spent in rooms with patients diagnosed with the same disease or condition. Immediately I realized these idiots were lumping people under different umbrellas when in fact everyone had differing needs and comorbidities. They were human beings NOT numbers that fell into data driven categories. Hence , lots of medical errors being addressed in CEUs thanks to techs rather than trained nurses delivering the meds to patients.

At a time, or the same time, when colleges (Including Harvard, Columbia, Yale) began pushing students left until there were too few to push, Then the poor high school students just entering these liberal bastians of higher learning didn;t need pushing. I was there. I was angry. Didn't use my degree.
Surely any discussion of so-called balanced intelligence should include an acknowledgment of moral intelligence, even though many might believe that such intelligence doesn't actually exist; and moral intelligence issues from a sense of healthy shame which Russian philosopher, Vladimir Solovyov called "the true spiritual root of all human good and the distinctive characteristic of man as a moral being." Shame leads to guilt and guilt safeguards human conscience, natural shame being the root of moral intelligence; historically and to this day we have been surrounded by countless examples of the absence of a sense of healthy shame and moral intelligence; those who fail to develop this affect system may become less than human and be dominated by forms of psychopathy (today's ruling elite) which seek power and control in continuing efforts to victimize and dehumanize the rest of us; humanity has been and will continue to be manipulated by those who have never developed or who have denied human conscience and its spiritual root in healthy shame and moral development; psychologist, Erik Erikson referred to humanity as "unfinished human beings" because so many cling to a "prolonged childhood" in an effort to avoid personal responsibility for the task and the work needed to become fully human; and that task entails taking responsibility for any and all forms of intelligence that may have been granted by our creator who gave us freedom and the ability to choose as part of our human nature.

Many "Intelligent" people grow used to the positive attention and awards and praise that come from succeeding within the narrow framework of A, B, C or D government-approved teaching and testing. I was one of those, but luckily I escaped. I was in consideration for a Rhodes Scholarship, never suspecting that it was the gold standard for trapping and turning bright minds to become part of the cabal.
If you get hooked on that kind of reinforcement, if you blindly follow the positive reward system in place, then you have to detox and reset, give up the drug of outside authority-based approval, and live according to a new, healthier paradigm, or you may be led by the nose (IQ-test based programming) for a good part or all of your adult life.
This is an insidious way to siphon off the most intelligent people and essentially use their gifts against them, the way a skilled martial arts fighter uses the weight of his opponent to throw/kick them to the mat. I view allopathic Medical School similarly, with the sleep deprivation and very narrow way of looking at health and healing. You have to break out of the drug-only paradigm and face the disapproval of your peers for using your own true, creative, right brain intelligence and embracing a broader paradigm such as AMD has done.

Over the years, an art teacher told me my art was "pathetic." So I never tried that anymore.
Then my mother informed me that my music was not performance quality, so there was no point pursuing music school (NOBODY told me anything about music therapy or education!).
Then my father informed me that I was "bad at maths" (slightly lower SAT than language) so no point considering engineering or medicine....
I think those words are not 'little things' they create huge stumbling blocks in the psyche of young people. In the book The Four Agreements, the author says statements like that are curses. Steven Spielberg's mother told him he could do great things, and he did because the right belief seed was planted.
Striving for comprehension and deep understanding is not the goal of education. Many teachers "teach to test." I abhore that practice. I know many are horrible at tests due to stress and the formating of the questions. This is done on purpose to cause additional stress and dissociation. It is difficult to bring a child out of that hole once they have been buried.
Only tests in school present with A through D choices in which there is always a correct answer.
Problems in life or patients in a hospital for that matter neither give you the choices from which to choose nor guarantee your choice will be the correct answer.
You can either learn things in life from making your own mistakes or learn from the mistakes of others. That is really the only choice to learn.
If you think multiple choice is detrimental, how about our political system with two corrupt parties battling it out over minutia? This is not an accident. that and true/false testing is part of the campaign to condition us to accept this fake democracy.

PS: as a PharmD I can relate to the lessons of school. for me it was depression and serotonin. How can we treat something with chemicals that we can’t measure its baseline. Fascinating world we live in.

At a time, or the same time, when colleges (Including Harvard, Columbia, Yale) began pushing students left until there were too few to push, Then the poor high school students just entering these liberal bastians of higher learning didn;t need pushing. Surely any discussion of so-called balanced intelligence should include an acknowledgment of moral intelligence, even though many might believe that such intelligence doesn't actually exist; and moral intelligence issues from a sense of healthy shame which Russian philosopher, Vladimir Solovyov called "the true spiritual root of all human good and the distinctive characteristic of man as a moral being." Shame leads to guilt and guilt safeguards human conscience, natural shame being the root of moral intelligence; historically and to this day we have been surrounded by countless examples of the absence of a sense of healthy shame and moral intelligence; those who fail to develop this affect system may become less than human and be dominated by forms of psychopathy (today's ruling elite) which seek power and control in continuing efforts to victimize and dehumanize the rest of us; humanity has been and will continue to be manipulated by those who have never developed or who have denied human conscience and its spiritual root in healthy shame and moral development; psychologist, Erik Erikson referred to humanity as "unfinished human beings" because so many cling to a "prolonged childhood" in an effort to avoid personal responsibility for the task and the work needed to become fully human; and that task entails taking responsibility for any and all forms of intelligence that may have been granted by our creator who gave us freedom and the ability to choose as part of our human nature.
So true, our whole parish (600 souls? ) and priestly Society have been fighting for the true Traditional Catholic faith for 40 plus years, and guess what, have been fighting the whole vaccine/covid farce , too! Is this a coincidence?

Me too. The most amazing part was seeing it happens with liberals who had vaccine injured children they knew were injured by the vaccine.
Frankly, I believe a multitude of pharma drugs, including everything vaccine, just pulverize critical thinking skills.
I haven’t had any kind of “vaccine” since about 1966, and I can still think.
The Covid debable opened my eyes that the most intelligent people seem to be the ones that are most easily fooled into compliance with stupid sh*t.
Many "Intelligent" people grow used to the positive attention and awards and praise that come from succeeding within the narrow framework of A, B, C or D government-approved teaching and testing. I was one of those, but luckily I escaped. I was in consideration for a Rhodes Scholarship, never suspecting that it was the gold standard for trapping and turning bright minds to become part of the cabal.
If you get hooked on that kind of reinforcement, if you blindly follow the positive reward system in place, then you have to detox and reset, give up the drug of outside authority-based approval, and live according to a new, healthier paradigm, or you may be led by the nose (IQ-test based programming) for a good part or all of your adult life.
This is an insidious way to siphon off the most intelligent people and essentially use their gifts against them, the way a skilled martial arts fighter uses the weight of his opponent to throw/kick them to the mat. I view allopathic Medical School similarly, with the sleep deprivation and very narrow way of looking at health and healing. You have to break out of the drug-only paradigm and face the disapproval of your peers for using your own true, creative, right brain intelligence and embracing a broader paradigm such as AMD has done.
In my case, I got really bored with it.
I just spent the last hour or so reading this article on DMSO as well as some of the links within the article. I have followed a holistic way of life for many years….an amazing doctor of Naturopathy my support over the years. However, I’ve never before heard of DMSO. Will bring this up for discussion next visit.

DMSO is widely available from Amazon and a variety of other on-line sources as well as from major pharmacies and health food stores; it's important to purchase pharmaceutical grade formulas and follow recommended guidelines as well as doing some independent reading and research.
I cannot find it either in health food stores or farm supply ones and I boycott over capitalized monstrosities like the "A" one you mentioned.
I guess I'll have to figure out a way to make my own!!!
Are you kidding!? I am presently using a formula from NAKA (Enhanced DSMO with Aloe Vera) purchased from my HealthWise Natural Health store; they have both liquid and gel formulas; you can also purchase directly from NAKA pharmaceuticals and countless other Natural remedy companies and even from pharmacies who may carry it(the Naka formula is Canadian made).
When interested people seek to buy some DMSO, remember that there are a number of grades of the material and the lower grades will produce a more pungent body smell and garlicky taste in the mouth. Amazon, I believe, has a grade which has the lowest level of contaminants and it minimizes the nettlesome smell/taste components while taking it.

I think as we learn more about mirror neurons it will add to our understanding of dangerous group think. A family relative was told by a teacher he was not good at math over one poor exam result. He believed from that point forward he was not an intelligent person, despite his genius sense of humour. What a terrible pity, because it was the teacher that was in that moment acting stupidly. It is so interesting to read up on brain lateralization. It seems to me that it is healthy to strive toward balance. Many teens and college students have to work as well as attend classes and study, then there is the computer game addiction. I wonder what the outcome would be, if parents did a deal with their older kids. Instead of gaming and working, go outside, spend time in nature, engage in creative projects and hobbies that are relaxing, and keep up with schoolwork. A work ethic is vital, but so is balance. As Robert L. Stevenson wrote in 'An Apology for Idlers' It would be easy to leave them (children) in their native cloudland, where they figure so prettily—pretty like flowers and innocent like dogs. They will come out of their gardens soon enough and have to go into offices and the witness-box. Spare them yet a while, O conscientious parent! Let them doze among their playthings yet a little! for who knows what a rough, war faring existence lies before them in the future?

Over the years, an art teacher told me my art was "pathetic." So I never tried that anymore.
Then my mother informed me that my music was not performance quality, so there was no point pursuing music school (NOBODY told me anything about music therapy or education!).
Then my father informed me that I was "bad at maths" (slightly lower SAT than language) so no point considering engineering or medicine....
These little things stick. Stupid teacher.
I think those words are not 'little things' they create huge stumbling blocks in the psyche of young people. In the book The Four Agreements, the author says statements like that are curses. Steven Spielberg's mother told him he could do great things, and he did because the right belief seed was planted.
Many have great short term memories, which leads to excellent test scores, but are far from intelligent.
Striving for comprehension and deep understanding is not the goal of education. Many teachers "teach to test." I abhore that practice. I know many are horrible at tests due to stress and the formating of the questions. This is done on purpose to cause additional stress and dissociation. It is difficult to bring a child out of that hole once they have been buried.
Only tests in school present with A through D choices in which there is always a correct answer.
Problems in life or patients in a hospital for that matter neither give you the choices from which to choose nor guarantee your choice will be the correct answer.
You can either learn things in life from making your own mistakes or learn from the mistakes of others. That is really the only choice to learn.
If you think multiple choice is detrimental, how about our political system with two corrupt parties battling it out over minutia? This is not an accident. that and true/false testing is part of the campaign to condition us to accept this fake democracy.
